Contents

CFS is a complicated disorder characterized by extreme fatigue that cannot be directly linked to any underlying medical condition. The fatigue may worsen with physical or mental activity but does not improve with rest.

The underlying cause of the condition is unknown; however, there are several theories, including an underlying viral infection, exposure to an environmental toxin, or chronic inflammation due to a dysfunctional immune system.

  • Extreme fatigue, not helped by sleep/rest
  • Body/joint pain
  • Poor concentration/brain fog and memory issues
  • Weight gain
  • Sugar cravings
  • GI issue; bloating, bowel disorders, and/or nausea
  • Sore throat
  • Recurrent infections
  • Swollen and painful lymph glands
  • Headache
  • Insomnia
  • Extreme exhaustion or tiredness that lasts for more than a day following physical or mental activity

If you have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or are experiencing CFS symptoms, there is often another chronic condition with similar symptoms at play. Due to poor testing, doctors often miss identifying the root cause of your CFS symptoms, making it nearly impossible to treat.

With years of experience and the most advanced diagnostics available in NYC, our team of physicians who specialize in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome takes a deep dive into your health, ensuring we uncover the underlying issues responsible for why you are sick.

  • Undiagnosed thyroid dysfunction
  • Other hormone imbalances (i.e., insulin, cortisol, leptin, etc.)
  • Viral, bacterial, or yeast infections (Lyme Disease, Human Herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6), Candida, etc.)
  • Gut dysbiosis
  • Mold exposure
  • Heavy metals toxicity
  • Nutrient deficiencies
  • Inadequate liver detoxification processes
  • Chronic inflammation
  • Mitochondrial dysfunction

Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism results when an underactive thyroid fails to produce enough thyroid hormone. Some people have issues converting T4 to T3, which can also result in hypothyroidism. (3) Since thyroid hormone works on nearly every cell in the body, this condition results in the body’s processes all slowing down. One of the most common forms of hypothyroidism is an autoimmune condition called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.

Hyperthyroidism

Hyperthyroidism is a condition whereby the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone, which results in an accelerated rate of metabolism. This also includes Graves’ Disease, which is an autoimmune condition that accounts for about 60% to 80% of all cases of hyperthyroidism. Common symptoms include weight loss, heart palpitations, insomnia, anxiety, high blood pressure, and GI issues like diarrhea. (4)

Non-Thyroidal Illness Syndrome (NTIS)

Non-Thyroidal Illness Syndrome (NTIS) is a condition where the levels of T3 and/or T4 are abnormal, but the thyroid gland does not appear to be dysfunctional. Doctors commonly miss this condition, and many are not even aware of it nor understand how to diagnose or treat it. Patients often suffer from the symptoms of thyroid dysfunction; however, they are commonly misdiagnosed and therefore not properly treated.

Treatments

  • Targeted supplementation
  • Nutritional support
  • Treatment of any underlying hormone imbalance
  • IV Therapy: Key vitamins and minerals in IV therapy will help boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, and increase energy, plus the added benefit of UVB light. Ultraviolet light has been shown to enhance the immune system and introduce an anti-inflammatory effect. Cellular healing and regeneration are achieved through red light therapy.
  • Novothor Red Light Therapy: A whole-body, red light therapy bed that treats the root cause of your condition, stimulating deep healing through red and near-infrared light. Novothor treats injuries, reduces pain, relaxes muscles/joints, and increases blood circulation.
  • Magnesphere Therapy: Profound whole-body technology that promotes relaxation and reduces pain and inflammation through precise, low-level electromagnetic fields (EMF) to reset your Autonomic Nervous System.
